Boda Medieval: "Alter Egos" de los desposados / Medieval Newlywed Couple

Nos ha llegado la buena nueva de que los esponsales ya han tenido lugar en tierras del Reino de Castilla.

Mensajeros de la corte nos han traído el retrato de los desposados.

We have received the good news that the nuptials have already taken place in the Kingdom of Castile.

Court messengers have brought us the portrait of the newlyweds. 

 

Les deseamos larga y próspera vida en común!!!!!

We wish them a long and prosperous life together!!!!!

Una buena amiga me encargó este regalo de boda tan especial. Se  trataba de crear dos muñecos a imagen y semejanza de los novios. La boda iba a ser de estilo medieval y, por lo tanto, quería que los muñecos también fuesen vestidos con trajes de inspiracion medieval.A good friend asked me to create this special wedding gift. The dolls to be created should be the living image of the couple and, as the wedding was going to be medieval like, the dolls had to be dressed in medieval costumes
Así que me puse manos a la obra, me documenté sobre la época y diseñé los trajes buscando telas que resultasen apropiadas. So I set to work: I documented on the time and designed the costumes trying to find the right fabrics.
Para la mujer diseñé un vestido en color marfil sobre un vestido interior a modo de sayo, zapatos y diadema para ceñir el cabello.For the woman I designed an ivory dress and an undertunic, shoes and a headband for tying the head.
Para el hombre diseñé una túnica ajustada en un terciopelo brocado, debajo llevaba calzones y botas. For the man I designed a tight fitted velvet tunic with brocades, pants underneath and boots.
El toque final era que los muñecos debían parecerse a los auténticos novios, así que guiándome por unas fotos de los mismos intenté que el parecido fuese lo más aproximado con el color del pelo, ojos y, lo más importante, sus rasgos. The final touch was to be given by the resemblance of the dolls to the bride and groom. I was given a picture of them to try to copy their hair and eyes colour and, the mos important, their traits.
